The Summer was in Her Eyes
The summer was in her eyes:
A thousand buds opening,
Rainbow envious of the color,
All morning was the scent of love.
Breeze rustling the bamboo
Enticed us to laze in the hammock;
The quiet stream welcomed splashing bodies,
And the afternoon gave up its silence.
Cloudless night and dama de noche,
Starlight failed in our splendor;
The shy moon was frantic to hide,
The night blossomed—a garden of kisses.
The summer was in her eyes
And she was mine for that summer.
